We have less time for developing new products than ever before. Especially in the field of consumer products we are looking for our revenues within a very short period of time. When we fail others will benefit. To operate successfully we have to cooperate. And we have to do so project by project. The result of all this is an increasing complexity of the product and production development processes. Maybe we should start developing in a different way.
Rapid Prototyping, Rapid Manufacturing, Rapid Product Development, Lean Product Development and even Time-Compression Technologies. Suddenly we should be 'rapid' and 'lean'. It is becoming a hype. Nevertheless when we look at this from a distance we will find enough worth taking a closer look at.
SOLide helps companies to improve their product and production processes. It analyses their needs and tells them how to deal with these needs. The result may include conventional solutions as well as Rapid Technologies.
SOLide has been founded in 1998 by Rein van der Mast. He has been involved in many product and production development projects and lately he is consulting others. His papers are published in various magazines.
